It’s finally hockey night in Danbury again. Six hundred and one terribly long days have passed between professional games in this city — an entire season was lost.
The regular crowd of longtime fans, many who have supported pro hockey since its arrival here in 2004, are reconnecting on this October 2021 night as families and casual observers shuffle into Danbury Ice Arena, the downtown rink with room for roughly 3,000 diehards. The building’s management, ownership and seemingly dozens of new employees are opening concessions, pouring $7 beers and checking tickets.
