Danbury Arena has youth hockey programs all year round for young skaters who want to learn how to play hockey. Hockey Development Classes teach hockey skills in small classes that are divided by age and ability. Classes are affordable, at convenient times and are taught by our professional hockey coaching staff. Check out the latest line up of classes. Travel hockey experience
1 hour clinics that work on power skating, game like zone battle, stickhandling and shooting drills all of which incorporate proper body coordination.
(Ages 10 and Under)
Practices: Mondays at 5:30PM
Games: Saturdays at 8:45PM
This takes the skills developed in Learn to Skate and puts them to use. We also develop those advanced skating skills and add team concepts to our practices. Inside and outside edges, power skating and stride development, passing, forehand and backhand shooting, range of motion with stickhandling, faceoffs, offensive and defensive zone awareness. This is broken up into two classes. One 1 hour practice and one 1 hour game per week.
(Ages 10-12 & Ages 13-16)
Meets on Thursdays
Working in one zone and getting into more critical situations. These small area games encourage creativity and have the fun pond hockey mentality to it.
